I embroidered/appliqued a shirt for a friend this week. I think it turned out pretty stinkin' cute. And since this is Luke's church BFF it made the process that much more enjoyable! Although I really don't have much time to sew, I enjoy it every so often.
The next project took me 5 minutes and $2. It's amazing how something so small can make such a big impact. It became clear after having a toddler that we needed a place to store crayons, markers, coloring books, play-doh, and everything else these little ones need. We started with these out of reach, but I really like the idea of him having access to it whenever he wants.
This cabinet is in our island and it's completely devoted to art supplies. It became a catch-all and quickly got out of hand...
The only way to organize this chaos was to pull everything out; so out it came. I purged and threw away anything thing that didn't belong and/or was broken.
As I was buying my newspaper on Sunday I spotted some pretty blue organizing bins with handles. By the way, Dollar Tree's plastic organizing sections is AMAZING and they change out their stuff/restock pretty frequently.
I love that the coloring books/magazines can stand up without falling over and he has access to everything in here. The green bin on the top shelf (which was hidden by the clutter in the before picture) was also purchased at DT a few months back. It holds play-doh and markers.
The metal canister holds all his magnetic letters.
Luke ran here to get out some play-doh tonight and gasped "Oh pretty mommy!" Not only does it look great but now I remember what all is in here!
